WATCH: The Full ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ Trailer Before it Self-Destructs

The spy genre is as strong as ever. Two years ago, the latest James Bond film Skyfall was released and raked in over one billion dollars at the global box-office. Last month director Matthew Vaughn surprised fans with a unique homage to the 1960’s spy genre, with his sleeper hit, Kingsman: The Secret Service. The latest Bond film, Spectre, is currently shooting and will be released late this year. It seems that action and espionage never really goes out of style at the movies.

The fifth Mission Impossible movie was originally scheduled to be released this upcoming December. Paramount Pictures had a change of heart and decided that it didn’t want to compete with the upcoming juggernaut, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. They opted to move the sequel’s release date almost six months earlier. A shocking move that signals the confidence that they have in the project.

The full trailer for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation shows off a ton of epic action, that for the most part, appears to feature real-world stunts. This movie was not on the radar, but somehow the Mission Impossible theme song makes you realize that there is always a place for this spy franchise. With a bevy of summer movies designed to spark up nostalgia, such as Furious 7 and Jurassic World, taking one more impossible mission at the theater seems to make sense. The newest film brings back Cruise as Ethan Hunt and also stars Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Simon Pegg (Star Trek), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) and is directed by Christopher McQuarrie (The Way of the Gun, Jack Reacher). Check it out.

Official Synopsis:
