Guillermo Del Toro (Pacific Rim, Pan’s Labyrinth) has established himself as one of today’s best genre directors. His unique style of creature design, love of horror, and overall geek passion comes out in every one of his films. His latest effort is Crimson Peak, the haunted house horror film which stars Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland), Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers), Jessica Chastain (Interstellar), and Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim).
The upcoming film is a combination of many traditional horror tropes and ideas. It is unclear what the movie is really about, but it has had a strong buzz in industry circles for some time now. The combination of practical and visual effects looks enchanting and with an Oscar caliber cast, Del Toro looks to be firmly in his element. Enjoy the trailer!
