The holidays are a special time of the year where family and friends reminisce about the past, exchange gifts of appreciation, and most importantly…get wasted together. There is a very special holiday film coming out later this month that looks to explore how wild Christmas Eve can really be…if you really try. Sony released the second trailer for The Night Before today and it’s definitely worth taking notice of.
The cast stars three of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors. Seth Rogen is an unmatched box-office draw whose last two movies, Neighbors and The Interview, had a $49 million dollar opening and caused an international incident respectively. Joseph Gordon-Levitt has too many projects both in front and behind the camera to list, however it’s only a matter of time before he is nominated for an Academy Award. While Anthony Mackie is the newest Marvel Avenger and has at least three new movies releasing before the year ends.
From the looks of the trailer, The Night Before looks to be a combination of Old School and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The trio play childhood friends who are looking for one last holiday of madness before they decide to accept adulthood. The second trailer shows off much more of the outrageous humor and sight gags that we can expect from the comedy. It’s also worth noting that Jonathan Levine is directing, who led both Rogen and Gordon-Levitt to one of their stronger dramatic performances to date in 50/50. So it’s more than likely that beneath all of the ridiculousness, there will be a strong heart and themes pulling the movie together. If you are fan of man-child comedy, this is definitely worth looking out for this winter.
Official Synopsis:
