WATCH: The New Trailer for DEADPOOL Brings NSFW Holiday Joy

For the past eleven days, Twentieth Century Fox has been treating fans to the “12 Days of Deadpool.” A daily onslaught of viral marketing coming straight from Deadpool himself. Of course it all culminates on Christmas day, when they debut the new trailer for Deadpool and what a gift it is for fans of the Merc with a Mouth.

Ryan Reynolds returns to the superhero role that he was meant to play as Deadpool, aka Wade Wilson. Which is already being counted as one of the best comic book castings since Hugh Jackman or Christopher Reeve. He is joined by comedic actor T.J. Miller, who plays his sidekick Weasel, his tech wizard and the butt of his jokes. Gotham’s Morena Baccarin plays Wilson’s love interest Vanessa Carlysle, who in the comics goes on to become known as Copycat. The former UFC fighter Gina Carano (Haywire) plays the musclebound Angel Dust and Ed Skrein takes on the role of the main villain, Ajax. However, it’s apparent that the film hinges on Deadpool and the performance of Reynolds, who does not seem to disappoint.

The newest trailer features some of the familiar sequences from the first trailer, while showing off more of the comic book action and unique comedic beats that we can expect from the movie. Fans of Marvel Comics should be happy to get a firm confirmation that the movie also takes place within the X-Men universe. We hear the Russian accent of Colossus played by Stefan Kapicic and are privy to a glimpse of the power of Negasonic Teenage Warhead, played by Brianna Hildebrand. It’s encouraging to see that the movie may have action that actually matches its humor. The much anticipated release of Deadpool is less than two months away. Until then, enjoy the trailer.

Official Synopsis:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool opens on February 12th, 2016.
