When Lucasfilm launched Star Wars Rebels in 2014 it was hard to imagine the truly limitless possibilities that would be available on both the small and big screens. Star Wars Rebels takes place in the time period between episode 3 and 4, giving the writers both creative freedom and an ability to cleverly make links to the larger universe. 

Each season the connections to the original trilogy become stronger, especially with a host of iconic cameos including, Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader. Now that the world has seen The Force Awakens, a few times, the show has the opportunity to now make meaningful connections with J.J. Abrams’ film and lay the foundation for the new generation.

This is literally one of the best trailers to come out in some time. There are a ton of characters and scenarios to entice both newbies and long-time fans of the movies and Clone Wars TV series. Yoda’s appearance, the long anticipated face-off between Ahsoka Tano and Darth Vader, and Ezra firing up a lightsaber with the same design as Kylo Ren, are just a few of the meaningful money shots in the sizzle reel. What is even more interesting is that the Jedi-in-training, Ezra, is seeking the guidance from mentors from both the light and dark side. One of which is Yoda and the other may be none other than Snoke Darth Maul. 

There is a lot to digest in this trailer and if you haven’t gotten into Star Wars Rebels, there is no better time than now. Enjoy.
