This past week the CW network launched it’s second Arrow and The Flash crossover event. The worlds of both shows continue to grow in dynamic ways while also exploring their DC Comics roots. The two-part story was not only intended as a fun spectacle, but also served as the foundation for their upcoming spin-off, Legends of Tomorrow. The show will certainly embrace its science-fiction and fantasy roots, as it features mythological creatures, reincarnated beings, and time travel. CW is doubling down on the comic book action and it looks as if it just might pay off.
For the first time in live-action, Vandal Savage was introduced on both shows. The immortal megalomaniac, played by Casper Crump, will serve as the main villain and threat for the first season of Legends of Tomorrow. Now that audiences got a taste of him this week, it seems that the CW network felt it was necessary to reintroduce him again, in a brand new promo for the show. In the crossover we also learned the mythology behind Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Their link to Savage should serve as one of the lead sub-plots for the show. There is a lot to look forward to as Legends of Tomorrow will premiere next month. Enjoy!
Official Synopsis:
When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?
Legends of Tomorrow premieres on January 21st, 2016.
