Star Wars Celebration kicked off in Anaheim today in a huge fashion. The weekend-long convention is aptly named because it truly is a festive atmosphere for all fans. In a special presentation, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, J.J. Abrams and many more took the stage and addressed those in attendance and tuning in worldwide. Even R2-D2 and BB-8 rolled onto stage, amazing the audience that the droid is actually functional. After ushering the crowd off of the stage, Abrams stuck around to present the newest look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The newest look shows the scope and epic nature of Abrams’ vision. Everything from the redesigned stormtroopers to the old familiar faces seems to signal an inherent respect for the original trilogy. However, instead of lazily replicating what came before, it seems that there is a natural progression in Abrams’ work. The second teaser also shows the sense of adventure the film will have. It is hard to imagine this movie failing…Keep in mind this only the second teaser trailer, but it packs more than enough Star Wars material to geek out over until the full trailer drops. Enjoy!
