Stop the presses! Despite reports to the contrary, there is humor in DC films! The newest trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released today after much anticipation and it does not disappoint. Unless you aren’t a fan of caped superheroes punching each other in the face. Then this trailer definitely is not for you. However, for everyone else, we get three minutes of awesomeness courtesy of director Zack Snyder.

The trailer is combination of a scene which sets the tone and dynamic comic book action. It opens with the first meeting between Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne, whose antagonistic dialogue brings to mind their encounters in both the comics and animated series. We also get another extended look at the new incarnation of Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg, who is full of nervous energy and wit. While he does seem a bit like Gene Hackman 2.0., it works in the trailer and his diminutive stature is a great contrast next to the two titans. 

Wonder Woman gets a semi-formal introduction in this trailer, but her role in the film remains under wraps. However, they did reveal the muscle of the film, Doomsday. Doomsday is one of Superman’s greatest advesaries and his involvement in the movie has been rumored for over a year now. We also got the confirmation that the monster is the creation of Lex Luthor’s experimentation. There is a lot to get excited about. Enjoy!

And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before. 

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to open March 25, 2016.
