Over the past weekend, the cast and crew of The Flash made their triumphant return to the San Diego Comic Con. A year ago they were a show with a recognizable hero and entertaining pilot, but a concept so wacky that nobody was faulted for not feeling confident, including the cast. Things are much different this year. The show has a firm identity and it’s not afraid to push the limits. The result is one of the biggest hits of the year for the CW network and things look like they will continue to expand.

As we explained in our earlier post, there are a handful of new additions coming to The Flash in the second season. The most important thing that was revealed is that the multiverse (parallel universes and dimensions) will be explored, which leads to other DC Comics’ heroes and villains making their first appearances, including the return of Dr. Harrison Wells. In the brief teaser, we hear a series of voiceovers that foreshadow a larger world that all of the characters are stepping into and the dangers coming in the second season.
