WATCH: The Trailer for the Live-Action ATTACK ON TITAN Movie

Every generation has a few anime properties that begin as cult hits and go on to define their time periods. In the 60’s it was Astroboy. In the 80’s it was Voltron and Robotech. By the 90’s, the medium had continued to mature and full-length anime movies began to make their mark, with such cult classics as Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Ninja Scroll. In the past few years, if you ask what is one of the hottest anime properties going, you are bound to hear about Attack on Titan

The hugely successful anime series is based on the manga written by Hajime Isayama. It centered on three teens who enlist in the military to protect their civilization from enormous giants who breach their city’s defensive walls and mindlessly kill people. The story is emotional and surprisingly personal, while offering some genuinely unique action sequences. For the most part the trailer looks like a faithful adaptation, giving glimpses of key moments from both the manga and anime. If you haven’t, you are encouraged to check out the anime in preparation on Netflix. Enjoy the trailer!

Attack on Titan releases in Japan on August 1st, 2015.  Attack on Titan: End of the World releases in Japan on September 19th, 2015. However, there is no current U.S. release date scheduled, but we will keep you up to date on the eventual distribution plan.
