Here is the movie that is sure to be the litmus between those that are able to turn their brain off when watching a movie and those that can’t. What do you get when you combine the novel Pride and Prejudice with killer zombies? Pride and Prejudice and Zombies… Come on, keep up with me here.
The first trailer for the upcoming feature film adaptation of the hit novel, displays the brazen tone and style that we can expect from the movie. It also features a surprisingly talented cast including Lily James (Cinderella), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) and Jack Huston (Ben-Hur). We will see if writer and director Burr Steers is able to wrangle in the B-movie tone, while still delivering something new to the zombie genre.
The novel’s original writer Seth Grahame-Smith made headlines recently, when it was rumored that he was the man tapped to write and direct The Flash feature film for Warner Bros. The story is odd because Grahame-Smith has little actual film production experience. He also wrote Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, whose film adaptation was a critical and fan failure. So it will be interesting to see if his unique brand of humor and adventure is actually connecting with audiences. Fortunately we won’t have to wait long as the film is released in the first week of February. Check out the trailer.

A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy (Sam Reilly) is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice.
