One thing that Disney has proven in the past is that they can make an entertaining movie out of anything. They took an old and antiquated ride, Pirates of the Caribbean, and turned it into a multi-billion dollar film franchise. They have now set their targets on the futuristic section of Disneyland called Tomorrowland and it looks like they have another winner on their hands.
There has been a huge amount of buzz on Tomorrowland, ever since extended footage was first screened at last year’s New York Comic Con. Director Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) has kept the top-secret project under tight wraps, with the first trailer only giving a glimpse to audiences of what is in store. The film stars George Clooney who will seemingly ground the fantasy film with his earthy tones. The scope of the movie looks as big and fantastic as you would expect from the film’s title, while keeping a very family-oriented vibe. Get ready to take the trip to Tomorrowland.
Official Synopsis:
Tomorrowland is directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) who co-wrote the script with Damon Lindelof (Star Trek Into Darkness, Prometheus). Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen (Britt Robertson) bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor (George Clooney) jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as “Tomorrowland.”
Tomorrowland opens on May 22nd, 2015.
