There is less than one week left until the release of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix and by all accounts this is the first step in a brave new direction for the superhero themed company. Marvel Studios has done a lot of things correctly over the past ten years, which has lead to them becoming one of the powerhouses in the movie industry. However, there has been at least one chink in the armor of the studio that has become apparent. It’s that all of their movies feel relatively safe and cater to the widest possible audience. It looks like things are about to change in 2015…

Marvel will begin diversifying its lineup this year and venturing into darker material than they have previously attempted. Beginning with Daredevil, the seedy underbelly of the Marvel cinematic universe will be revealed and we will get to see how street level crime is addressed in their world. In the latest (and hopefully final) trailers for the upcoming series, we get a much longer at the supporting characters in Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) life, including Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), Stick (Scott Glenn), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson). This looks like it really has the potential to be special and to expand the boundaries of what to expect from Marvel in the years to come. Enjoy the trailers.

Official Synopsis:

Marvel’s Daredevil” is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. Murdock sets up practice in his old neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen, New York where he now fights against injustice as a respected lawyer by day and masked vigilante at night.

Marvel’s Daredevil first season will be available in its entirety on April 10th, 2015.
