New Promo Art for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’

The very first image that Marvel fans saw of the Age of Ultron, was of Tony Stark’s Iron Man helmet being reforged into the face of Ultron. Marvel Studios used a brief teaser trailer to announce the villain and title of the Avengers’ sequel, to those in attendance at the San Diego Comic Con in 2013. However, it was clear that writer and director Joss Whedon would make a few logical changes to the comic book canon.

It seems that Ultron is corrupting Iron Man’s system in the new piece of promotional art. It will be interesting to see if Ultron has a hand in “reprogramming” Stark as well, by changing his viewpoint on world security. Which would ultimately set the stage for Stark’s future conflicts in Captain America: Civil War. Ultron is shaping up to be a unique villain, which seems to have drawn inspiration from the comics, Frankenstein, The Terminator, and boundless science fiction stories about artificial intelligence gone wrong. We also get another good look at Vision. It is worth noting how Ultron hovers over him like a puppetmaster. There also seems to be subtext about the impact of fathers and sons. Stark creates Ultron. Ultron creates Vision. Fans of the comics are salivating at the prospect of how Whedon will adapt these origin stories and themes for the big screen.
