WATCH: Deadpool Spends a Hilariously Inappropriate Halloween with the X-Men Babies

Fox Studios will be releasing their R-rated adaptation of Marvel Comics’ Deadpool in February and regardless how large of a hit is, other studios are taking note of the film’s inventive marketing. It began with director Tim Miller’s leaked proof-of-concept video that highlighted his and actor Ryan Reynolds’ vision for the project. The short was an immense success spurring Fox to greenlight the feature film just months later. It wasn’t long before we began getting tweets with Deadpool on bearskin rugs and videos of the anti-hero assaulting TV anchors. By the time the first trailer was released, fans were literally drooling to see the footage.

The social media marketing campaign continued over the Halloween weekend, when Reynolds tweeted out exactly how he spent the holiday.

Perfectly in character, we get Deadpool commenting on the growing X-Men cinematic universe and also maintaining the illusion that Deadpool is actually out in society. Fox has done a lot in advance to establish the relationship between Deadpool and his audience. This will pay off doubly when the character breaks the fourth wall in February, since he will feel familiar despite it being his first movie.

Well here is another gem that took place over the holiday weekend, that should only add to the legend of Reynolds as the Deadpool character. It shows him hanging out with a group of children dressed as mutants, in a direct reference to the recast leads of X-Men: Apocalypse. But if you read between the lines, this is clearly letting audiences know that both Deadpool and the X-Men take place in the same world and will eventually collide with each other.
